Evaluation Kit

The Orcam GPS25 Evaluation Kits is designed for evaluation of the Orcam GPS25 and GPS26 OEM-GPS receivers. It contains an Orcam GPS25 Evaluation Receiver and all necessary hardware and software to make it possible to evaluate all features of the Orcam GPS2x.

 

GPS25 Evaluation Receiver

The GPS25 Evaluation Receiver contains a GPS25 OEM-GPS receiver with standard sensitivity GPS application firmware, GSW2.x stored in Flash or ROM, or enhanced sensitivity GPS application firmware, XTrac™ stored in Flash, mounted on an interface board encapsulated in an aluminium housing measuring  126 x 105 x 33mm.

The Evaluation Receiver has 2 serial RS-232 ports, one BNC connector for the 1PPS (pulse per second) output and an SMA connector for attaching an external active GPS antenna. The Evaluation Reciever supports both GSW2.x and XTrac™ software and can be set to Flash-mode, allowing new software to be downloaded into the OEM-GPS receiver. 

The Evaluation receiver requires a voltage supply of 4 - 15 VDC. 

 

Software tools

On the accompanying CD software tools for configuring the evaluation receiver, downloading software to Flash and monitoring and logging GPS data and performance using a Personal Computer with Windows^® are provided as standard. For software tools for other operating systems, please consult your local Distributor. The software provided is

• SiRFDemo - used for configuring the Evaluation Receiver, monitoring of the receiver with real-time data presented on screen, and logging data in the field for further analysis.
• SiRFFlash - software used to read/write to the flash of the embedded OEM-GPS receiver
• SiRFView - Software for graphic presentation and analysis of collected GPS data
